It is. It’s the sixth nominated and first to win.

Parasite was outstanding, though I'd have been fine with any one of four winners. It was sort of a modern Viridiana.

    Sure about that?

    1. Grand Illusion
    2. Z
    3. Emigrants
    4. Cries and Whispers
    5. Il Postino
    6. Life is Beautiful
    7. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
    8. Letters from Iwo Jima
    9. Amour
    10. Roma
    11. Parasite

I think that's all of them?

Director: Mendes (Biggest chance of an upset here. If Mendes doesn't win it, it'll probably be Bong)
    Actor: Phoenix
    S. Actor: Pitt
    Actress: Zellwegger
    S. Actress: Dern
    Foreign: Parasite

My official predictions of the rest of the categories (not necessarily what I want to win) For the record, I've seen all but one of the nominated films, Les Miserables, but, it has no chance of winning the award it's nominated for (International Feature).

Original Screenplay: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
    Adapted: Little Women
    Animated Feature: Toy Story 4
    Animated Short: Hair Love
    Doc Feature: American Factory
Doc Short: Learning to Skateboard in a Warzone (If You Are a Girl)
Live Action Short: The Neighbor's Window
    Score: Joker
Song: I'm Gonna Love Me Again (Rockeman)
    Sound Editing: Ford v Ferrari
    Sound Mixing: 1917
    Production Design: Parasite
    Cinematography: 1917
    Makeup/Hairstyling: Bombshell
    Costume: Little Women
    Film Editing: Ford v Ferrari
    Visual Effects: Avengers: Endgame

Let's see how well I do.. Normally I don't do too well with these things, but, we'll see.
Missed the writing awards, Director, Picture Visual Effects, and Production design. Other than the big ones, I'm quite impressed with my picks this year.

Ah interesting, thanks for sharing. The article I read didn't include the first four so apparently movies didn't exist before 1973 and didn't include Letters from Iwo Jima because it was Clint Eastwood directed.

Why would the fact that Clint Eastwood directed it cause Letters from Iwo Jima to be excluded?!?

Maybe being American-made somehow keeps it from being a foreign language, even though it's in Japanese? It's a great movie at any rate, imho. Emotionally authentic in ways few war movies manage.

Yeah I think they tried to clear that up this year to being a foreign made movie and not just a non English speaking movie going forward.

And agree it’s a fantastic movie.
