7 Astros plunked in first 5 games, most of any team.

The Cincinnati Reds have had six players hit in their four games (1.5/game), slightly more than the Astros' 1.4/game.

The Astros have been hit with a lot of pitches this spring. I wonder if the umpires are as upset as the players and fans are at the Astros. I doubt they would do anything to screw them like expanding the strike zone when they are up to bat snd vice versa when they are on defense. But I wonder if they will just look the other way when one of them gets hit and automatic ejections when they retaliate.

    From Field of Dreams:

[The pitcher throws another ball at Graham's head.]
Graham: Hey ump, how about a warning?
Umpire: Sure. Watch out you don't get killed.

MLB will be instituting a plan to curb cheating. (kind of long)

The Reds have been hit by a pitch 14 times in Cactus League play, the most of any club in the Majors this spring

Bumping this up as we the fans cannot forget what happened here. They do not get a free pass.

I thought it was getting bumped because of this:
    https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/...on-length.html
Commissioner Rob Manfred did reveal to ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt on Wednesday that he’s “done” investigating the matter. Manfred has not had time to write a public report yet, though, but he will issue a verdict sometime before the season begins (via Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times).

Red Sox get slap on the wrist for video cheating as MLB scapegoats replay operator

The league issued its report Wednesday on the accusations that the 2018 Red Sox under former Astros bench coach Alex Cora had used its video replay system to illegally steal signs and relay them in real time. The league punished the video replay operator J.T. Watkins, but cleared the rest of the organization of wrong-doing.
That includes Cora, who was suspended for the 2020 season only for his role in the Astros’ illegal sign-stealing scheme. Cora was fired by the Red Sox after he was implicated in the report on the Astros’ cheating. Like former Astros manager A.J. Hinch and general manager Jeff Luhnow, Cora will be eligible to work in baseball in 2021 if this season is played or not.

No worries. It probably does deserve it's own thread.

No fans in the stands is the best scenario the Astros could have hopped for this season.
