I'm not mourning. He was a goober. And rotten.
It is on the whole probable that we continually dream, but that consciousness makes such a noise that we do not hear it. Carl Jung.

    And a little nutty.

I never would have thought Kirk Douglas would out live Mr Peanut.

Proud of myself for not googling or clicking any links about this despite it being referenced obliquely everywhere I turn on the internet. My agency is strong.

Rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated.

    https://www.wowt.com/content/news/Mr...567365511.html

(CNN) - Planters is reportedly rethinking its plans to kill off its Mr. Peanut mascot in the wake of Kobe Bryant’s death.

The company said in a statement to the marketing magazine Ad Age that it "has paused all campaign activities” to be sensitive to those impacted by Bryant’s death.

    Re: RIP Mr. Peanut.

I get it. Kobe's accident is high profile and will be front of mind for a lot of people. However, I see that about 100 people die on average per day in auto accidents in the U.S., so even under the best of circumstances they'd be running that ad in a week where 500+ people die tragically by auto accident in the U.S. It's always going to be kind of insensitive to run that sort of ad.
