"Yet more intriguing? The real goal, per Acee, is to swing a blockbuster for a high-level talent. He notes Nick Senzel of the Reds and Francisco Lindor of the Indians as longstanding targets, but it’s not really clear whether either is realistically available at this point. There aren’t many other conceivable candidates to be acquired who’d meet the description of a “difference-making” performer."
If his name isn't Tatis or Bogaerts I am content sticking with Jose Garcia in the prospect world. I don't think either squad has a MLB ready SS prospect who could meaningfully contribute this year.

In all seriousness, I just don't see a match here. If the Reds are giving up Senzel, it's going to be for a roster upgrade at C or SS. That isn't coming from the Padres. So as Griffey012 said, unless it's Bogaerts coming to Cincinnati, it's a hard pass for me. I'm guessing, if the Red Sox were willing to move him, it would take some serious prospect capital coming both from San Diego and Cincinnati.

They aren’t giving up their former top prospect for a C that would block one of their current top prospects who could be ready at some point this year.

Yeah, the only way I could see this working is if the deal is built around this framework:

    Reds get Bogaerts
    Padres get Senzel
    Sox get Myers and Gore

Obviously, this wouldn’t be the whole deal and there would be other lesser pieces involved to balance things a bit since the Red Sox would need more prospects to pull the trigger as this is predicated on them moving towards a full rebuild.

You want Senzel? I’ll take Tatis or Bogaerts.

Short of that (which obviously isn’t happening), I’m not sure there’s a match here.

I went with this as a framework and came up with:

    SDP gets:
    OF Senzel

    CIN gets:
    SS Bogaerts
    OF Bradley Jr

    BOS gets:
    OF Myers
    LH Gore
    CA Mejia
    RH Mahle

Padres. They wouldn't even do Gore for Senzel straight up.

I think Boston says no to this.

Padres might say yes because they get Myers money off the books and still get Senzel.

I disagree. They went hard after Grandal this off-season and Realmuto last off-season. I think they'd do it for the right catcher

Gore is worth more than anyone in that deal

Take it up with the folks at https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/ as that's how the values for the players work out.

Wil Myers is worth a huge negative though. And Bogaerts is probably worth more than Gore or at least right about the same.

I feel like Boston needs one more good piece from the Reds in that deal. Maybe J.Garcia or Winker, but I don't think it's too far off.

If Senzel was injured and out for the season, how many games would you shave off the expected win total? The reason I ask, I get he is valuable, but not sure he is a significant impact on this season with the current roster....and if that is the case, then I would consider moving him for a package of high level prospects.

    Padres Get:
    Nick Senzel - CF
    Jose Garcia - SS (Minors)
    Scott Schebler - OF

    Reds Get:
    Taylor Trammell - CF (Minors)
    CJ Abrams - SS (Minors)
    Luis Campusano - C (Minors)
