    Re: Reds Spring Training Broadcasts

Dodgers announced their schedule. 30 games. The only games not being covered are the second games of split squads. But that only adds one broadcast for Reds. 15 March.

Part owners. How much do they own? That's like saying the Williams brothers can tell Castellini what players he should go out and get. There was an old saying back when Papa Steinbrenner owned the Yankees: "There's nothing so limiting as being a limited partner with George Steinbrenner."

    Re: Reds Spring Training Broadcasts

I always feel kind of nervous when teams are winning ST games, especially the Reds. Maybe I have a poor memory for these things, but it always seemed to me that teams who win in ST are destined to suck the rest of the regular season not to mention they don't really count for anything, but yeah..I still want to see how they're doing in ST, win, lose or draw. What I have very little to no interest in is what their favorite restaurants are in cities I have no intentions of going to and their golf scores.. No wait...that's those long season radio broadcasts I'm thinking about. It's tough to listen to some radio broadcaster's golf scores.. They might as well describe their favorite toilet paper embossing pattern..Now that's something everyone can get on board with!

By the way...the single most exciting event of any year anywhere in the world is today..Pitchers and catchers report for spring training. That should be a globally televised event with super bowl-like commercials..No? OK, MAYBE I'm being just slightly hyperbolic over that one.. let's put it to a vote.

    Re: Reds Spring Training Broadcasts

Cubs are starting a new cable network called Marquee this year. It starts Feb 22. It's going to cover Reds games that are not on other networks for

    March 4th and 7th and 8th

It's supposed to be available on DirectV and other ATT services but no indication yet whether it is an add-on or part of regional sports package. (And whether you can get it out of Chicago).

Still waiting for MLB TV to post their schedule of which games are going to be available.

As it is now, they're only showing the schedule from March of last year.

The Reds won't tell you, just like they won't tell you how much they get from the tv deal.
