    Reds re-sign Derek Dietrich to minor league contract

    Cincinnati Reds
    @Reds

    The #Reds today signed IF/OF Derek Dietrich to a minor league contract with an invitation to Major League spring training camp.

    Welcome back, Dietz!
    “I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

    No a bad move. Good insurance in case of a rash of injuries.

    I'm surprised, but oddly pleased.

    Maybe the Reds are the only team that has the potential for a sleeveless jersey?

    Glad to have DD back in the system, he was a fun player last year even if he wasn't as productive as many had hoped.

    Glad to have Diet Rich back in the fold. I can already hear the Trans Am revving over the Fleetwood Mac tape.

    Derek is only going to be brought up against the Pirates.

    Re: Reds re-sign Derek Dietrich to minor league contract

    Nothing in his career suggested that second half is anything resembling the norm. Then again, the first half was a little more correct, minus the HR's and you can thank GABP for that. I think he likely beats out VanMeter if it comes down to it.

    Team has some depth offensively. Past Galvis though, can anyone catch the ball?

    Not sure why this is locked.

    I'm going to re-open it. If the mod who locked it has a good reason to lock it (that I for some reason can't see), they can re-lock it later.
