I view this as a "courtesy" signing. Headed for AAA until he dominates there.

Lol I could definitely see that too...but only if Night Ranger was opening.

Probably just some insurance for Moose having to man third in Geno's absence. Even with the awful finish he had an .829 OPS vs RHP last year so I don't see the harm in giving him a look.

He's fun, he can hit and play multiple positions. Good signing

Perhaps they could schedule a gold chain giveaway game.

For sure. In fact June---->Sept was brutal. Unless he can turn that around I have no interest and why could he turn that around at this point in his career? The odds are stacked against him

I have to think Dietrich was hurt during the slump period last year.

He didn’t look able to hit. There was such a dramatic fall off that something had to be wrong.

Reds must think things can improve or they wouldn’t have signed him, even to this minor league deal.

I don't see any way he makes the squad unless there is an injury. But, it is good to have insurance in case of one. He's the type of guy who could step in and get hot for a month and you wouldn't miss a beat. We've also seem him ice cold. But, his history says he has some talent with the bat.

You guys are showing your age, he's probably a Run the Jewels or Tame Impala guy.
(Referring to Jack Hannahan signing with a Korean team)
Since there are no teams on the moon, I guess South Korea's far enough from Cincinnati to satisfy me.

There is a 100% chance Derek Dietrich has hit the quan.

True but his walk up music last year was Phil Collins...

Really hoping hit by pitch guy doesn’t accrue any meaningful playing time

Kids will be kids with Tick tock, the game is locked... Anyway... He did have surgery in September which had some effect on his swing I'd assume.. a .071 BA the second half wasn't in the least bit normal even for the pitchers spot..
