I love that guy. Going to suck seeing him wearing someone else’s uniform next year.

I believer Trevor Bauer won the NL ERA title this year. Has a Red ever won it before?

No Reds has ever won it. Bauer will be the first, though we won't know until after the World Series.

We can dream but what if Bauer continues God mode for the next month?

How big of a Cincinnati legend would he be?

ERA title, not Cy Young. They should know that right now.

Bauer is at this moment the most famous Reds pitcher since Chapman, maybe the most famous across the league starter since Ewell Blackwell.

    What about Tom Seaver?
...the 2-2 to Woodsen and here it comes...and it is swung on and missed! And Tom Browning has pitched a perfect game! Twenty-seven outs in a row, and he is being mobbed by his teammates, just to the thirdbase side of the mound.

    Duh. My bad.

Bauer's the first Red to do that since Ed Heusser, aka the Wild Elk of the Wasatch, in 1944 (or Elmer Riddle in 1941 if you want to pick a less ad hoc season). Other Reds to do it were Bucky Walters (1939, 1940), Dolph Luque (1923, 1925) and Billy Rhines (1890, 1896)

Seaver was already an icon yes, but he belonged to New York in such a way it never felt like he was ours alone and well by the time he was a Red his fabulous years were in the past too

More evidence that Keith Law hates the Reds... and is an idiot.

Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer is 5th in the Cy Young…..?

Here’s a clip from Trevor Bauer’s YouTube livestream from last night. Bauer said Derek Johnson is the best coach he’s ever had. He also said his time with the #Reds has been by far the most fun he’s had playing in the big leagues. Listed the Reds as the early front runner in FA.

Sources: the qualifying offer for MLB players in 2020 is $18.9 million. Last year’s was $17.8.

#Reds are expected to extend a qualifying offer to Trevor Bauer. They’ll receive draft pick compensation if he signs elsewhere.

Re: Trevor Bauer: An American Hero

Here are 9 likely suitors for Trevor Bauer
    LIKELY SUITORS

    1) Reds: The Reds have said they will do “everything we can” to keep Bauer in Cincinnati, while the pitcher recently said he believes the Reds are “a team that I can win with.” Getting to the postseason was a big first step for Cincinnati, which hadn’t been there since 2013. The presence of pitching coordinator Kyle Boddy -- who has worked with Bauer at the Driveline training facility that has become popular among pitchers -- is a plus for the Reds, as is his relationship with pitching coach Derek Johnson. Still, it will likely take an overwhelming AAV on a short-term deal for the club to retain the NL Cy Young Award favorite.

If the NL does not keep the DH next season, will that hurt our chances with Bauer?
