Texans head coach Bill O'Brien reportedly compared DeAndre Hopkins to Aaron Hernandez and complained about his 'baby mamas' in incendiary meeting before baffling blockbuster trade
In an appearance on ESPN's "Get Up" Wednesday morning, former Dallas Cowboy and current commentator Michael Irvin claimed that Houston GM and head coach Bill O'Brien had soured his relationship with Hopkins to the point of no return, prompting what is already being tabbed the most baffling trade of the NFL offseason thus far.
According to Irvin, Hopkins told him that he and O'Brien had a meeting over the four-time Pro Bowler's excessive "influence over the locker room" and his teammates. Then, the six-year Texans head coach compared the four-time Pro Bowler to late New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, who famously fell from grace and was tried in two separate murder cases before taking his own life in prison.
Unsurprisingly, Hopkins took offense to these comments, especially considering he's "never been in any trouble." From there, Irvin reported, the meeting continued to devolve. O'Brien reportedly told Hopkins that he doesn't like seeing "his baby mamas around."

I like the 2016-2018 version. He was a great run stopper. Will the Vikes go to a 3-4 with Hunter and Barr on the outside?

I know it will never happen, but if I was Winston, I would consider resigning with Tampa Bay and backing up Brady for a couple seasons. Learn from the GOAT, then take back over when he retires. His other options are going to be the "dead QB taking snaps" until a rookie is ready or backing up on another team. I think his reputation would remain stronger backing up Brady, and at Brady's age, he is as likely to get injured as anyone.
Also with the rumors of AB coming with Brady to Tampa Bay, and if he can actually get cleared to play....how does any defense stop those receiving weapons? Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Antonio Brown, OJ Howard....wow, you better have a two great CB's, great Nickelback and a Safety that can cover!

They are a strange franchise. They can make some excellent draft picks, some excellent free agent signings and then ignore critical elements to a successful season/future that dooms them in the long run. Rivers' talent got wasted there.

Their cap situation has them getting creative. Cousins' overpayment and their huge free agent spending on an Offensive Line that failed miserably for what it cost has them buried this season and is costing them talent. They still have to move their Safety and figure out how to extend Cook.
