Relievers are volatile they are all question marks by nature.

I’d much prefer another proven reliever given the makeup of this pen.

This is a different world, my friend. You’re no longer competing with the Pirates for fifth place.

Tryout camp is over. As many solid, proven relievers as possible.

There will always be room for some bounce back candidates or young guys.

I think we have simultaneous split roster games both days this weekend.

The Cubs signed a proven veteran reliever for big bucks last season. He wasn't worth half of what they paid for him

I get where you're coming from but outside of the very large market teams this is just how bullpens are being handled these days. I'd call it the Tampa Bay Ray's model. They spend nothing on there pen yet it was the best in baseball last year. The Reds have accumulated a lot of very good arms and now it's up to them and the coaching staff to make it work. IMO it will be solidly above average this year but we'll see.

Payton replaces Ervin, Crook replaces Aquino,

Mahle gives up a run. 2 walks in 2 innings. Still an issue.

People make mistakes. It’s not an exact science.

But Reds fans are way too confident in unproven guys and bounce back guys.

The way to go is with quality and experience as much as practicable. That will give you the best yield at the end of the day.
