    2020 Opening Day weather thread

And the GFS is now out to opening day in longest range. Please accept this with all the usual caveats- 15 days out, GFS model, etc- and enjoy it as a sign that opening day is scheduled just around the corner.

At 384 hours the GFS at 6Z reaches to the early hours of opening day. It is showing a cold front coming through and ushering in cold air. Given the progression, the rain would appear to clear the area by game time. Only a short time until the 12 Z is out.

Oh and the Reds magic number is 163!

    Update:
12Z GFS now shows the 26th to be sunny with seasonal temps.

Just think- only 64 more runs of the GFS until gametime!

Today 6Z GFS had a warm front approaching the area at gametime, 12 Z had a cold front approaching.

Games can still get rained out without fans... maybe the temperature won't matter as much.

Re: 2020 Opening Day weather thread

Well those early predictions for today proved fairly accurate in terms of a front approaching the area. It looks to be fine around 70 for the scheduled start for the game and showers tonight with a cold front.
    https://forecast.weather.gov/MapClic...1#.Xny40IhKhPY
Today Partly sunny, with a high near 71. Southwest wind 6 to 10 mph.
Tonight A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 9pm. Cloudy, with a low around 57. South wind 5 to 7 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Now we just need a thread predicting when Opening Day will actually occur. My hope is Memorial Day but starting with the All Star Game may be more likely with a half season to follow thereafter.
