Life is pretty cruel at times. He lost 1/3 of his life to cancer. Way way to young. Only 53 years old. RIP

He truly seemed like a good guy. Very sad.

I had almost forgotten about Cormier. He was a pretty good reliever who helped the Reds in 2006 when they made mini run at the playoffs. Just way too young to die. RIP Rheal Cormier.

I remember Norm Sherry, and his brother and teammate, Larry from my earliest days of following baseball.

Larry was a good reliever for the Dodgers as reflected in the linked article.

Re: Some Obituaries of Recently Deceased Major Leaguers Part Two

When I was 10 yo in Frankfurt, Germany, there was a baseball league for the troops. I would hang around their practices for the occasional ball or cracked bat. Larry Sherry was the catcher. He had a wide stance that would enable him to lift the ball right off the deck for a HR. Those days are among my fondest memories.

    RIP Norm.

Wow, George Elder lived up to his name. He turned 100 two days ago.
