RIP Bob Watson. A good player.

Very good player for the Astros. He had good power and would have had more HR's if playing in another park besides the Astrodome. RIP to another cardboard hero of my youth.

Davey sprinted as well. He knew this sort of thing might happen. I was at that Reds game. I was ecstatic to see a Reds player score it. I then went to the concession stand and my buddy broke the bad news to me. Bummer. Oh to be a Reds fan...

I was in the park that day. We all thought Concepcion scored the run. Concepcion homered and sprinted around the bases himself. We fond out a couple innings later that Watson crossed home plate as Concepcion was rounding third.

My other memory of Watson was him running into the wall at Riverfront Stadium and getting seriously injured. Meanwhile, Reds fans were pouring beer on him as he lay there in a heap. That incident is why I don't get into the whole thing about hating Cardinal fans or Cub fans or whatever. That incident showed me that here are A-holes everywhere.
