    Re: Soooo no baseball eh?

My wife and I are stocked up on food for the month, and we both more or less get to work from home because of this.

Lots of netflix and board games, I presume. Maybe record some music.

I think I might start really trying to learn Spanish.

I have this thing where I memorize stuff when I’m bored, too. It started when I got grounded in high school. I memorized Pi 30 places over and all the WS champions and US presidents in order. They’re good party tricks for, you know, when we have parties again.

Golf. Lots of golf. I'm retired.

All of the Reds post season games from 1990 except for game two of the NLCS are on YouTube. Also I think the entire 1975 and 76 World Series are on YT. Plenty of other post season games from the past too.

Also lots of other regular season games. Just pick a random game. That can be fun just seeing what you will get.

As WOY said there are plenty of radio broadcast of past games.

I hope I have time now to read more at home. I am reading my way through US history by following the line of the Presidents. I am now into the Civil War. I'll be on that one a while.

Should we plan a week of coordinated rewatching the 75 and 76 games at set hours and do game threads?

I can only imagine the reaction after Games 1 and 7.

In sixth grade I recited all the World Series winners for my class, now I have coworkers who randomly ask me to do certain years and other highlights from said year, I tend to do better on 20th century ones

    Anyone have other book recommendations?

If anyone really likes old-time baseball, literature, and King Arthur, The Natural is phenomenal.

I Never Had It Made: An Autobiography of Jackie Robinson is also really good, but for a different reason.

Depends on what route, Bios, teams, specific seasons, etc

Here are 5 great reads that cover a lot of the games history and nuances, aside from Bill James's Historical Abstract

Diamonds in the Rough (The untold history of baseball) - Joel Zoss and John Bowman
The Diamond Appraised - Tom House and Craig Wright
The Thinking Man's Guide to Baseball - Leonard Koppett
    Nine Innings - Daniel Okrent
Dollar Sign on the Muscle - Kevin Kerrane

Anyone read that MVP Machine (I think that's the title) with stuff on Trevor Bauer? Worth buying?

Other thought was whether this will prove a make or break period for relationships:
ex. Two people suddenly stuck together nonstop for two weeks- either great or not or "I can't believe he wouldn't self isolate with me- I don't think he will ever commit", disagreements over what to do now that there are no sports on television.

I’m going to walk a lot.

I’m not going to see many people. We just got word that we are WFH for at least the next 3 weeks. My guess it that it’s longer. My wife is a school admin and she is supposed to still go in. So I’ve moved my office monitors and docking station home. My group plans on having daily virtual stand ups to stay in touch. Lots of Skype meetings. No video though so I won’t have to wear pants.
She used to wake me up with coffee ever morning
