Baseball, Sports and the Corona Virus

Looks like we're at 1,000 for the other thread so I thought I'd start a new one.

Ohio is allowing curbside voting in the primary tomorrow. They are also extending absentee voting for those in the hospital.

    I'll still not watch it.

I'd rather watch water drip in a sink

I was trying to think of a way this whole ordeal would lead to the Bengals somehow not getting Burrow. That’s definitely in the cards somehow, some way.

If they still play 162 games, I wonder if there will be double headers, so the post season won't run thru November.

My half-baked proposal that presumes life will begin to restore itself in June.

82-game season starting 4th of July weekend and cancel the All-Star game and break. Try to hold the normal playoffs as close to their original schedule as possible.

Have two weeks of preseason workouts at northern minor league ballparks (e.g. Midwest League).
All models are wrong. Some of them are useful.

Along those line I would also get rid of all interleague play and play almost exclusively within divisions though the 5 team division setup means there will always have to be games with other divisions going on.

Nearly every day the MLB expected shutdown is pushed back farther. Not a good trend. I'm hearing July 4 now is best case scenario.

I've heard a pretty solid rumor of starting around ALL-Star break time, so that seems to match up.
    WHEN DOES IT STOP!?!?

A more-or-less half season seems reasonable.
