    Mount Rushmores

A debate that’s happening on Twitter:

    Bob Ryan
    @GlobeBobRyan
No city has a better sports Mt Rushmore than BOSTON. And here it is: Russ, Ted, Bobby and Tom. You cannot imagine how painful it is for me to leave out Larry. But I must.

Cincinnati could play in this game, if it doesn’t have to be one from each of the four sports.

Could you do Cincinnati as a birthplace? Or go with college teams?

    Baseball: Nuxhall
    Football: Anderson
    Basketball: Robertson
    Hockey: no clue

Does it count if they're not "from" there?

I mean, NYC has a say, if it's not. (Babe, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle, Pele, Tyson, Joe Louis.)

So does LA (Magic, Kareem, Bo, Koufax).

And Chicago. (MJ, Butkus, Chelios, Dorothy Hamill, CM Punk)

And Houston (Earl Campbell, Carl Lewis, Hakeem, Nolan Ryan)

If it's where people are born, other places are interesting.

Louisville: Johnny Unitas, Ali, Dr. Dunkenstein (or Paul Hornung), Mary T. That's a solid alternative list, IMO.

NYC is good: Iron Horse, Kareem, Jordan, Iron Mike (or Gronk)

Baltimore has a say in this one too: Cal, Babe, Michael Phelps, Carmelo

Philadelphia: Kobe, Wilt, Bill Tilden, Joe Frazier

I think the original theme was not about being born there, but that would be more impressive. If it were all one sport, Donora, Pa., would have a claim: The Griffeys, Musial, and some other guy.

Hockey’s going to be the tough one for most places.

My take was that it consists of 1 person per major sport.
What Jordan are you referring to for NYC?

    MLB - Pete Rose
    NFL - Anthony Munoz
    NBA - Oscar Robertson
We'll leave a spot open to chisel in a future FC Cincinnati member.

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Let's forget hockey and add DeHart Hubbard instead. Or Ezzard Charles.
