    Oh, don't be a silly mid-on.

If there’s something to be thankful for in all this, it’s that we’re not currently packing into GABP and about to explode the transmission of the virus even more.

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

I could see them doing baseball live-streams or something like that. There might be other options.

I think that with our half-hearted approach to containing the virus, we’re in for a much bigger spike of illness, many more deaths, and a much longer recovery period.

The other thing about China — it’s a risk. They may be quite likely to have another outbreak because of re-opening the economy. Fortunately, they also have a highly organized method of mitigation to fall back on if they stumble.

We need to understand where this is heading. We need to accept that in order to mitigate the spread we all will have to make sacrifices. Most of those sacrifices will be seen as severe. Also, the length of "going without" will certainly exceed these next few weeks and next few months.

We owe it to both ourselves, those most vulnerable and our collective future to adapt (for the foreseeable future) to this new reality. I understand the anxiety. I understand the frustration and downright fear, but those emotions must not interfere with the maximum effort that needs to be put forth in order to mitigate the spread and impact of this disease.
Never mind the fact that the virus mutates every time it goes from one host to another. Six months from now, it's likely we are looking at a different version of the virus. There already are multiple versions.

What about giant tournament of 7-game series? Each League has a 16-team tournament with the Winners meeting in the World Series. It's like a golf, darts, bowling, NCAA, or any other tournament. One team gets a bye (the 1 seed), and all 16 seeds are just like any pool tournament, random selection. The most any one team plays is 42 games. This could happen even with an August 1st Start date. It would be exciting. I'd watch it.

i Just read that if it’s mutating it’s doing it slowly.

Yes, that is a good point in terms of mutation among rapid community spread. I also think it is imperative to realize that when mutation happens that it rarely, if ever, results in the virus becoming "deadlier".

Mutation, espically among novel viruses, revolves around combatting possible detection/pharmacological intervention and not virulence.

Regardless; I hope we can at least recognize and appreciate the fact that we as a society are dealing with the most significant health crisis this country has seen in 102 years.

For people who don't click the article, this is really great news, if true, because it means a vaccine would be long lasting, like the measles vaccine.
