It’s worth voting just to get Votto ahead of Perez. It’s been open for nearly a week and Votto is closing in, but the fact that Perez is ahead by 2 percentage points is embarrassing. Not to knock Perez, but look at his numbers compared to Votto’s. Nearly any Reds 1B in the history of their franchise could’ve knocked in as many RBIs as Perez did with the guys batting ahead of him.

Imagine if Votto had Rose, Morgan and Bench batting ahead of him.

Perez was more than that brief period in time though, to be fair.

The lack of Adam Dunn but the presence of Dave Parker in the OF list was annoying. I get that Cobra anchored some lineups and drove in some runs, but he basically had one truly noteworthy season. At least Gus Bell was long-tenured.
Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

I know he played more than twice as many games at 1B as 3B, but I would have put him at 3B for this exercise. He was the Reds starting 3B for 5 full seasons, more than Suarez.

The vote totals are silly. Bench is winning at only 67% with nearly 30% voting other at catcher.

    My votes:

    1B Votto
    2B Morgan
    SS Larkin
    3B Rose
    C Bench
Top 3 OF ranked: Robinson, Roush, & Griffey Jr. (I don't think Griffey Jr. as a Red was the best, but I loved him as a player so he's getting my 'homer' vote). Davis came in fourth place.
Top 3 SP ranked: Walters, Rijo, & Soto
Top 3 RP ranked: Dibble, Chapman, and Graves

I voted Foster second, Roush third, then Griffey fourth.

Senior's seriously underrated both at his peak and career.

Rose at 3B. He played there 4 seasons and was outstanding in those years as an all-star and world series MVP. It also showcases one of his best attributes- the flexibility to play where he is needed most on the field. And its not like the others were so outstanding. Hopefully in a few years we'll all be able to agree that Suarez is the all-time 3B.

Same infield. OF is Roush, Robinson and Pinson.
    SP - Walters, Maloney, Rixey
    RP - Chapman, Dibble, Carroll
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Rose in LF (Davis in CF and Robinson in RF) makes more sense.

    1b Votto
    2b Morgan
    SS Larkin
    3b Suarez
    LF Rose
    CF Davis
    RF Robinson
    CA Bench

How is JB not 100% at catcher?
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

Re: Cinci Enquirer: Pick your All-Time Reds team

    C- Bench
    1B - Votto
    2B - Morgan
    SS - Larkin
    3B - Groh
    RF - Robinson
    CF - Davis
    LF - Rose

CF is the tough one. Can't really argue against picking Pinson or Roush. Yet Davis put up video game numbers during his 1986-90 run (143 OPS+) and then had maybe the most unexpected comeback ever in 1996. Most electric player I've ever seen.

People been sleeping on Heinie Groh.
