The Dream Team Reds team sim is apparently in the Final Four. That's not too bad considering there's a number of omissions, particularly from players in the first half of the 20th century.
I looked at the rules, and it appears players were rated according to the average of their top 3 seasons. It's not clear if those top 3 player seasons had to be seasons with the team. A guy like Tom Seaver is a prime example. If Seaver on the Reds is rated by Seaver's top three Reds seasons, then he's good but not great. But if it's top 3 seasons period, then rating him based on his average season combining 1969, 1971 and 1973 turns him into a dominant pitcher.
That said, the criteria of simply using top 3 seasons benefits a team like the Reds. They had some really good players who were tremendous for a short time but just never had the total career value to land in the Hall of Fame. Guys like Davis, Foster, Klu.
That said, there's some omissions from the Reds. Bucky Walters is the greatest Reds starting pitcher in team history, but he's not on the team. Had the CYA existed in his time, Walters would have probably won it 3 times. That's far better than Soto or Gullet. Dolph Luque's top 3 seasons should have put him on this team - his 1923 season is perhaps the greatest single season performance by any Reds pitcher ever. Eppa Rixey's top 3 seasons were very good as well.
Edd Roush and Heinie Groh are two others who should have been on the team in place of Jay Bruce and Vada Pinson.
The other lesson here is I'm missing baseball ... because I just spent the last 20 minutes analyzing a fantasy simulation.
The Lost Decade Average Season: 74-88
2014-22 Average Season: 71-91
Reds, Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox seems like an appropriate final four.

Yes! Reds dream team defeats the Dodger dream team 4 games to 2. Reds best in the NL and face the ultimate Yankees for all the marbles.
Ted’s top 5 year run was great, but actually don’t match up to Votto’s best 5 year run. And Votto’s career numbers are so much better.
Perez would’ve even be in the conversation.
Votto would not just make any Reds all time team, he would anchor the lineup.
