    Buster Onley in an interview

    1. The financial implications of the pandemic on the game will be far reaching with regards to the roster construction. You're going to see teams offing players in a rush to change solve their budget issues. He referred to a team who he wouldn't name (a larger market) who projected a loss of revenue of $160M. It's definitely going to be interesting to see how things play out. With all of the money the Reds spent this offseason I tend to wonder where the lost revenue will leave them and whether or not

    2. A lot of things are going to change about the game of baseball. That the 7 inning double header of games could be a method of introduction of the 7 inning with an eye towards making 7 inning games the norm down the road.

He said they've been looking for a while to try and figure how to get games down into the 2hr/2hr15m range and that would get them there or a lot closer.

I used to mock people who wanted to speed up the game by suggesting we just make games 7 innings.

I will stop watching MLB if they make games 7 innings after this is over.

MLBPA should fight vehemently against a shift to seven-inning games as the norm. A club would need fewer players if it is only playing seven innings a night.

Until there is a vaccine I don't see anyone getting money in free agency. So this offseason I wouldn't be shocked to see only a handful of guaranteed contracts.

7 innings games would be really stupid. Play double headers and two 9 inning games. Schedule double headers one day a week.

I would be OK with 7 inning double headers for this year, as long as they are not separate admission games. No on any 7 inning games thereafter. Better to cut down the time between innings than clip the product.

It would be different alright. Can you imagine the Nasty Boys in seven-inning games? You could start Scott Sullivan every night.

I’m all for freak show baseball this year in light of the circumstances but I’ll want the real thing back next season.

The players shouldnt get paid a red cent and should not get a year of service time if they complain there way into cancelling the season.
