There is little chance we get rid of these things. If you live in parts of the country with Fire Ants (I think they came in from South America in the 30's from a ship in a Gulf of Mexico port), you know you just have to learn to live with these imported pests.
Not trying to make a xenophobic point, but what are some insects or similar items that we have exported over the last 100ish years? I am sure there are some that I am not thinking of right now.
