The NBA G League currently will only pay a handful of the most elite high school players a market value....everyone else (unless you are a college player that gets a 2 Way deal) is not making anything close to the amount it would cost to live the lifestyle of a P5+1 college player. I would guess that P5+1 college player gets nearly as much in food as a GLeague player gets in salary. College basketball and football programs have private chefs and players have access to good food 24/7....most GLeague players are eating off a value menu.

BYU head coach Mark Pope had been linked to the job earlier in the season, while Arkansas' Eric Musselman is another name who could get a call to gauge interest.

    Good points.

And they're often playing in such a well-known metropolis as Sioux Falls. Good luck attracting any meaningful exposure.

exactly. Proving that only a handful of elite NCAA "servants" are being "underpaid" in the current model and the rest are living a Big Man on Campus lifestyle with access to the world's top nutritionists, medical facilities and degrees. It's not the NCAA's fault the NFL or NBA won't pay true market value for the top 18-19 year olds like MLB. 99%+ of Div 1 athletes are imminently replaceable and are benefitting more from the system than their market value justifies.

    Or Archie.

Darren Savino and Frank Martin were listed for UC. Can’t see Martin after just signing an extension but I’d say it’s Savino.

Based on my understanding, Frank Martin was offered the job in 2019 and was going to take it before the UC president nixed it due to the FBI investigation surrounding Martin. Mick pushed for Savino when he took the UCLA job, and he was one of the finalists, but I'd be somewhat surprised if they went for him, though they could definitely do worse. There's some rumors swirling it could be WVU assistant and UC alum Erik Martin, who interviewed for the job yesterday. Presumably, he'd bring Nick Van Exel along as an assistant. Archie is supposedly still on the short list.

Tommy Lloyd, the longtime top assistant to Mark Few at Gonzaga, is slated to be Arizona's next men's basketball coach, sources told CBS Sports. An official announcement is expected soon.

Lloyd beat out three former Arizona players/current coaches in varying capacities: Pacific head coach Damon Stoudamire, Arizona assistant Jason Terry and Lakers assistant Miles Simon. Arizona alum Josh Pastner also interviewed for the job, sources told CBS Sports.

Gonzaga has had an agreement with Lloyd for years to be Few's successor whenever Few retires, but Arizona is regarded as a top-10 job in college basketball and this opportunity is too good to pass up.

Tennessee basketball lands Jonas Aidoo, four-star center and former Marquette commit. This is a good 'get' for Rick Barnes.

That's quite a haul. And hopefully, Garcia returns.

A lot of signs pointing to WVU returning to Press Virginia next year....even some of the players they have spoken to in the portal have disclosed the staff have mentioned it as a possibility. Even though this years offense was more explosive than many of the Press Virginia teams, I had a feeling it was eating Huggins alive watching guys drive past defenders with ease and no rim protection. I personally hope that is the direction Huggins is going. If you are using high 3 Star and low 4 Star guys when you meet a team with high 4 Star and 5 Star guys, more than not you will come up on the short end unless you do something different is a near perfect manner to change the game.

    Groves Bros headed to OU

The initial commitment at Oklahoma for first-year head coach Porter Moser is in, and now the first big-time transfers are in the books.

Because what’s better than one Groves brother? How about both?

Eastern Washington forwards Tanner Groves and Jacob Groves both committed to the Sooners on Sunday evening.
