You may have to kiss a favorite restaurant goodbye.

As predicted, the mandatory restaurant and bar closings wreaked havoc with the small businesses. Now, it seems that the big chains will be swooping in to snap up prime locations...your corner pub becomes a Chipotle. Ugh.

As coronavirus crushes small restaurants, big chains see room to move in

Everything becomes Taco Bell. And TP is replaced by the 3 seashells.

I can’t blame the big chains for taking advantage, but these smaller businesses need help. And the issue is, these small guys have cut back to the absolute bone and usually it’s just 1-2 people keeping it going and doing 80-100 hour weeks. They don’t have the time to wade through federal red tape to figure out how to find the $$$. And these franchise places with corporate lawyers snap it up. I don’t know the answer. But our food choices will continue to be homogenized and bland-ified and character lost if something isn’t done.

There seems to be more of a groundswell of support for local restaurants and businesses than there ever has before, but I guess it hasn't been enough. And perhaps that's only anecdotal. We rarely frequented chains pre-COVID and we haven't been to any in the last two months.
"In our sundown perambulations of late, through the outer parts of Brooklyn, we have observed several parties of youngsters playing 'base', a certain game of ball. Let us go forth awhile, and get better air in our lungs. Let us leave our close rooms, the game of ball is glorious"

This is the same guy that had a fit when someone said something negative about the GOP on this same part of the board.

Just so you know, I’m going to point this out every single time you post something political and show your hypocrisy on this part of the board.
What would you say.....ya do here?

You know damn well what you wrote here belongs in the political forum. Did you NOT read Boss-Hog's admonition two posts before yours?
