    Great. Let's see them
As far as satirical writing goes there’s no other way to do it.

It was satire. I picked that up 100%.

If others thought it was truly a quote then I guess Steel needs to clean his writing up but I hope everyone that read that knew it was not a verbatim quote, but again, satire.

When is it satire and when is it just being a horse's rear end? If it's solely satire then isn't it also a personal attack? Regardless it's inaccurate and does not have anything to do with the subject at hand. I'm confident he wouldn't consider it satire if I returned fire

I am announcing my campaign to run for RedsZone moderator. My platform is suspending people for continually quoting Sea Ray, which ruins my enjoyment of reading the board. Vote for me.

How I feel when I see "view post" under SR's blocked post...

Thank you. I appreciate that, seriously. This means that you do find my thoughts provocative and worth reading. If not you wouldn't even be tempted. This separates you from Larry. I'm not the least bit tempted to read his stuff. I know I'm not missing anything.

Re: COVID-19, Part 5 - the beat goes on.

Enough with satire. Let's get back to business.

I never supported any mask policy, be that of the CDC or the WHO. I imagine that fact is what caused the tactic used earlier in quoting me. I honestly don't know what to think. But here's what we've got: Up until just a couple days ago the WHO said that they were not recommending the general public wear masks because they didn't have the scientific evidence to support it but they were looking into it further. Now they've switched gears and are mildly recommending it, all the while still stating that there's no science to back up such a policy. Given that, I'm puzzled why they'd update their policy at all. I suspect there's pressure coming from somewhere.

So here's where I stand...I don't know what to believe anymore but I do think governments should not require hundreds of millions, if not billions of people to wear masks based upon a hunch. I think they should have science to support it. There's a lot of science to say that masks are ineffective in stopping viruses similar to C19. There's no science that suggests C19 would behave differently as to a mask.

That last sentence simply isn’t true. There’s plenty of studies and science that show masks work. It’s all out there if you want to look.

Take that up with the WHO. This is their current stance:

The WHO says the widespread use of face masks or coverings by the general public is still not yet supported by high quality or direct scientific evidence.

Correct me if I’m wrong but you have been down on the WHO, no?

But now above you appeal to their authority citing their mask position.

    Perhaps I’m missing something.

You are missing something. I don't know why 'cause I've made it very clear but I'll go over it again.

Simply put I am NOT appealing to their authority. I've stated over and over again that I don't know who to believe. Have you missed me stating that? You are attempting to make it about me. I've got nothing to do with this.

It's a fact that the WHO says that the public wearing of a mask is not supported by scientific evidence. So if you disagree with that then take it up with them. Not me.

Earlier I posted an article that listed a dozen studies that found little to no benefit of the public wearing a mask. It was criticized here on these pages because it was tested with viruses other than C19 for obvious reasons, that being that such studies take time and C19 has only been around for 6 mos.

At that point I asked why C19 would behave differently and would be less likely to penetrate a mask than other viruses. I've gotten no response to that question.

Epistemic dissidence without methodological humility is just self-aggrandizement.
