MLB.com: The crazy story of how the Reds found Votto

Excellent Mark Sheldon article about how the Reds drafted and signed Joey Votto.

My name is Joey, uh, Joey Votto, 6-2, Richview Collegiate High School in Toronto, Canada, third base.
She used to wake me up with coffee ever morning

Great article. Joey Votto is probably the most articulate, interesting player the Reds have ever had.
Oh that was an ugly jacket Bowden was wearing.

McKeon wanted Scott Kazmir, Brian McCann, and Joey Votto in that draft.

Bowden wanted Gruler, Mark Shrameck, and Votto.

A lot of people forget that Trader Jack was a fairly good general manager with the Padres throughout the 80's.
Eric Stratton, Rush Chairman. Damn glad to meet ya.

Nice that the Reds got some luck for a change, due to not many other teams seeing Votto.
One of their "value picks" worked out lol
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Kasey McKeon the son of Jack Mckeon was the Reds scouting director while the Reds were scouting Votto.

I found out yesterday that he's blocked me on Twitter. Not sure why except I may have made a few references to his lack of honesty.
