2020 Draft Day 1 Thread- Drafting in the Time of Coronavirus

Keeping with tradition, let the discussions begin!

I’m hoping for Meyer, Veen, or Ed Howard in that order.
    Go BLUE!!!

Don't want a HS hurler, and Crow-Armstrong doesn't excite me. I'm thinking College pitcher or HS hitter that does not have a bird in his name,,,

I'm hoping the HS bats get forgotten with all of the college guys at the top and we get our pick.

I, too, would be happy if we picked up Emerson Hancock.

I'd even settle for a Spencer Torkelson.

Of the guys we have a "long shot" at I would go in order...

    1. Gonz (OK likely no shot at but I can dream! Several mocks have him at #7 though. I'd pick him #2 if I had the pick though. He may go 2 or 3 tonight)
    2. Meyer (Amazing fb and slider. Very likely gone early but TheSportsBank has him going to us at #12)
    3. Veen (again, very long shot, lowest I have seen him going is #6)
    4. Hancock (lowest mock #9)

    Very real shot at...
    5. Hassell
    6. Kjerstad (masher but bb/so ratio worrisome)
    7. Bitsko (reclassified to 2020 or would be even higher)
    8. Abel
    8. Detmers (best curveball in the draft)
    9. Hendrick
    10. Cavali (originally didn't like him because of stats but his fastball really jumps out at you on tape)

Tigers take Spencer Torkelson first, my dreams are crushed.

Who from the top 10 prospects might fall to the Reds at #12?

Probably agreed to underslot deal. I like Kjerstad a lot.

Re: 2020 Draft Day 1 Thread- Drafting in the Time of Coronavirus

Every year people don’t seem to understand the baseball draft is a LOT less predictable than NFL and NBA. Guys can fall 10-20 spots lower than projected easily, and it happens all the time.

Crud. Maybe Meyer or Vern falls.
