Thoughts on the 30 for 30 on the 1998 HR chase that aired Sunday?
Reflections on the 1998 season?
I have it on DVR, but haven't had a chance to watch it yet
My dad got to enjoy 3 Reds World Championships by the time he was my age. So far, I've only gotten to enjoy one. Step it up Redlegs!
I missed out on a great year, apparently. Couldn't enjoy the Jordan documentary because the Bulls beat the Jazz in '98 (and '97). Can't enjoy this documentary because I was Team Sosa and really disliked McGwire.

Pass, it was nauseatingly overplayed then and not near as fun as debating Roberto Petagine's pedigree

I'll pass. I'm still upset about two cheaters stealing national spotlight while the team I supported struggled to find a five-tool player that Leatherpants could use to compete with them.
A summer of baseball on steroids beats a summer with zero baseball.
Cheaters? Yes. But they saved baseball. For the time being, anyway.

Wait until 2020 has a 30 for 30 of the same title

It was kind of annoying back then.
Go Gators!
I was pretty excited by the whole thing as it was happening. I was clueless about steroids and had no idea somebody could take a pill that would make them hit Home Runs. I was attributing it to juiced balls, small parks and diluted pitching, but I was excited by it all anyway. By the time Bonds set the record, I was wise to what was going on and it was no big deal.
As far as the 30 for 30 goes, I remember what happened when it was happening, so I'm not all that interested in watching it.

All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Just like the last dance this was during my youth so it's nostalgic for me. Plus I never miss the chance to watch Junior highlights pre-Cincinnati.
I watched about 15 minutes of it and then turned it off. Seeing their cartoonish bodies like something from a Marvel comic book just turned me off. I realized how massive of a fraud the records are from the era.
That’s not to say that when it all happened, I wasn’t swept away by it like most other fans. I just remember wondering how 60 and then 61 home runs were the classic standard and now suddenly all rules are off. And records are not being broken by 1 but completely shattered and I’m like what the hell.
It was cool to watch in real time but now? No. I’d rather it be a documentary on how steroids ruined an era than celebrating cheaters.
She used to wake me up with coffee ever morning
