How do you get any starters ready with 3 preseason games?

And I don't know that there's any "6-man rotation guys" here. Yet some teams are going to have 6-man rotations this season. Sincerely doubt anyone will have a 4-man rotation.

Interesting question. With so many players in camp, they could play intra-squad double headers over the last two weeks.

Assuming that everybody remains healthy, the Reds' likely rotation will be comprised of Castillo, Gray, Bauer, DeSclafani and Miley, but the order hasn’t yet been revealed. It’s also not clear yet if manager David Bell and pitching coach Derek Johnson could try a six-man rotation or some other unique plan.

“Once we evaluate where they are, it’s a lot easier to make those decisions going forward,” Krall said. “I think we’re still working through that process of where guys are. If somebody is behind, that might make a different decision than for someone who is ready to go.”

The good news is that we know Bauer is in mid-season form (because he's always in mid-season form).

Gray and Casali have been throwing since Covid hit, IIRC.

Castillo has been throwing since the end of May at GABP.

Mahle was working on his own with a catcher from Ball State, according to MLB.

I have no idea about Wade Miley and Anthony DeSclafani.
