Reminds me of the very old, outdated joke:

What do Jesse Winker and Michael Jackson have in common?

They both wear a glove on one hand that has no purpose.

(first heard it about Lonnie Smith, which reveals how old the joke is)

Crazy we’re so stacked that Senzel is hitting seventh against RHP. On paper this may be the strongest lineup we’ve had in at least 30 years.

Yeah, everyone talks about the pitching, but I think adding Moose, Castellanos and hopefully Akiyama's game translating, makes the offense the strength at this point. I like Gray and Castillo at the top, but Bauer is more folk hero than ace and was awful last year. Disco is solid if he can stay healthy again (60 game season works well for him). As number 5 starters go, Miley is probably better than most. It's a junkyard after those 5. Hopefully no one in the rotation tests positive.

The Rotation won't be the reason they lose, but I don't think its enough to carry the team on its own. I'm skeptical of the bullpen. The offense is why I've become optimistic.

    Re: so who will DH?

There are a lot of candidates, Winkler, Votto and Cast are all sub par defenders.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

Bullpen will be very solid. I think the Reds have a lot of options for #6 starter. Mahle, Antone, De Leon.

    Re: so who will DH?

Before looking at the data, I expected to say Castellanos every day. However, Winker, Ervin and Castellanos are all nearly equally deficient defensively, so putting the Winker/Ervin platoon at DH or Castellanos at DH makes sense.

I would also like to have Votto as an occasional DH option, so hopefully the Reds keep Davidson as a 1B backup or one of the normal DH guys learns to play a little 1B.

    Re: so who will DH?

DH coming to NL now is kind of perfect timing with how this roster is constructed moving forward. Haven't gone down every NL roster, but we have to be in better position to cover the DH spot than a majority of the League.

    Votto's a good defensive 1B.

The good news is this team has plenty of DH options...
