Need to have Ervin in there against LHP. He went .349/.411/.628 vs. them in 95 PA last year which brought his career numbers to .313/.371/.536 in 197 PA. Shogo, Moustakas and Aquino could be candidates to go to the bench when Ervin needs to start vs. lefty starters. I imagine Senzel could play 2B on days Moustakas sits vs. a lefty starter.

OK. Could have Shogo, Moose or Votto sit against a lefty depending on who needs rest with Senzel moving around and Ervin in LF. When Votto sits, Moose would play 1B.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Reds are very well positioned to take advantage of it.

I like Davidson against lefty starters when Votto sits. In 254 PA, he has gone .268/.344/.461 against lefties. Moustakas has gone.249/.300/.419 against lefties over his career.

This larger roster and less churn in the bullpen will allow the Reds to keep a lefty masher like Davidson available. I hope the Reds are very creative with platoons this year. Suarez and Castellanos seem to be the two guys I would definitely not platoon, and I would understand them not wanting to do a strict platoon with Senzel or Votto, too.

When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

This. Have a pitcher be the regular DH. Just to blow minds.

I expect most games hitters 2-5 will be Votto, Suarez, Castellanos, Moose. Reds aren’t paying Moose so much to hit sixth. Reds will want Senzel to play CF pretty often, not full time in LF as indicated. I’d guess Galvis 8 and Barnhart 9 against RHP. If Reds keep all the outfielders then agree with some that Ervin will get his chances.

You can feel free to look up his career defensive numbers. They're good, especially in recent years.
