How to handle new rule in extras

    1. Is this going to get games resolved more quickly?
    2. For the hitting team: Is a sacrifice bunt a good idea?
    3. For the pitching team: Is the intentional walk a good idea?

With very few exceptions, I can't imagine that the visiting team pitching to the home team in a tied, extra inning game, would not choose to intentionally walk the first hitter. The situation is made a little murky by opening LHP/LHH matchups, limits to pitching changes, and the number of available pinch hitters available with expanded rosters.

Yeah, I think the basic strategy is that the home team shouldn't IBB, and the visiting team should.

I hate the runner on 2nd base thing so much, the way I might handle it is to turn the TV off.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

For this year, just call the game a tie. Do points like hockey. Two for a win and one for a tie.

I absolutely love this rule as it will bring a faster resolution to games. Now I can stay at a game with the family when it moves to extras. I see it as the good I get while having to accept the DH in the NL which I detest...
