    I'll start mine was Frank Robinson.

    My favorite pitcher was Jim Maloney.

    Vada Pinson. he was the 17 year old first baseman for the Reds' farm club in my home town. And he could run like the wind.

    Rose for me. I loved it when he hit the HR at Shea during the NLCS and pumped his fist in the air while circling thebases.

    Games are won on run differential -- scoring more than your opponent. Runs are runs, scored or prevented they all count the same. Worry about scoring more and allowing fewer, not which positions contribute to which side of the equation or how "consistent" you are at your current level of performance.

    Ken Boyer and Pete Rose. I turned age 10 in June of 1965 and was a Cardinal fan then, with Boyer as my favorite player. Cardinals GM Bob Howsam traded Boyer to the Mets following the 1965 season. I switched my allegiance to the Reds and before I reached age 11 I was a Reds fan and my favorite player was Rose.*

    *-In desperation to re-gain my favor, Howsam later became the Reds GM and built the BRM.
