I don't know that they would run away with it, but they would definitely be in the neighborhood.

The Cubs don't scare me that much.

The only team in which all of their wins came versus playoff teams....

    The Pirates

Jon Lester seems to be right around the age where he's going to be a pitching coach or broadcaster pretty soon. I hope my Al Ox get him back to do which of those things he wants to do.

I'm not "scared" of the Cubs, but I think they're being a bit overlooked. They have a great 1-2 punch in Darvish and Hendricks, and if Lester pulls off any heroics their starting pitching is as good as the Reds'. Bullpen is a huge question mark, though. They did a pretty good job scoring runs even with bad seasons from Baez, Schwarber and Bryant. I could see a few of those guys clicking now that the postseason is here and they could become a dangerous team. That's a lot of "ifs" and I hope I'm wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Me also, plus the Jays. Interesting that no central teams play each other in the first round. Does the central with 7 in vs 4 or 5 in for the east and west mean the central is the strongest pool, or the most mediocre? I guess we'll see as the playoffs progress. If the central advances 4 or more, then they rate the strongest, if 3 advance, they rate average, 2 advance, most mediocre, 1 advances, weakest!

It would have been interesting if we were at game 61 of a 162 game season. The Reds were obviously hitting their stride. They had sorted out their bullpen woes (I hope) and had started scoring some runs. Barring injuries, I think they were set up for a long run this season.

Perfectly nothing going on after 6 innings for the White Sox in Oakland.

And of course I jinxed it. Lucas Giolito's no-hitter and perfect game are gone.

Is there any draw so sweet as getting to play the A's in October?

I think the Yankees would prefer the Twins.
