Both Colon and Farmer play as many positions. run faster and play better defense. Van Meter's lefty bat is the only thing the explains it and it's what makes me most nervous about it. As a lefty, he'll play a lot. That's not a good thing.

Moustakas is still out. Reds wanted to add a lefty option for backup infield. One of the backup infielders will be sent down as soon as MM comes back.
They don’t have many good backup infield choices on the roster. Reds might have traded for a better option in the off-season. They are working with what they have.
