True, but we should consider the context. Reds are tied with Phils who’ve only played 7 games. Reds lead Cards who’ve played 5.

We’ll have a better view when (and if) those teams play more games. Cards and Phils are good teams that could seize playoff spots. I assume they will both get a number of 7 inning double headers to try and catch up.

Sure, but those teams will have to play multiple Double headers to make up for it which will be technically a negative for them as well.

Point is though that the current playoff standings are a mirage. Even more so than the usual early season standings. One of Reds’ chief competitors has only played 5 games and other teams have also played very few.

Well this while season is a mirage and will be when it's over as well.

So is Payton on the active roster? With Senzel and Moose out, they really need a couple of usable OF. Since they won't cut Jankowski, they should send Deleon down and add Payton or Aquino. One of them needs to be in LF tonight with Shogo in CF and Castellanos in RF. I'd rather pass on Ervin playing as well.
All my posts are my opinion - just like yours are. If I forget to state it and you're too dense to see the obvious, look here!

Would be truly bizarre for Reds to promote Payton, a LHH, who hit .636 OPS this spring, to face a lefty tonight. But I’ve seen bizarre moves before.

If Senzel is out I expect Aquino to rejoin the club.

I thought it was truly bizarre there was so much discussion about a Rule V pick who was returned, but alas I missed the news on us reacquiring Payton.

Bell said last night that Senzel may need a day or two of rest. If he’s not put on IL, Reds might go with a few lefty hitters in the lineup tonight, like Votto, Winker, Shogo. Just to fill all the positions even against a LHP.

If someone goes on the IL, perhaps Strop, they could promote Aquino to provide an additional RH bat. Or maybe Senzel does go to IL if the injury turns out worse than Bell expected.

This season, every day seems to bring roster changes, it’s a moving target.

David Bell says Pedro Strop may be out an extended period of time. No decision yet for the IL. Nick Senzel is day-to-day. #Reds

#Reds bullpen roster move: RHP Joel Kuhnel called up. Jose De Leon was optioned, but he'll remain in Milwaukee on the taxi squad.

Hopefully Kuhnel's 2020 debut goes better than De Leon's.

Good news on Senzel, too. If they can get 2 out of 3 from the Brewers there's a day off and then 8 games vs. KC and PIT, with a mostly full/healthy team.
