Why can't the Reds beat the American League?

Title asks it all, they showed a graphic last night that the Reds have the absolute worst record in Interleague play of all MLB teams. Is it the DH? Is the AL that much better of a league than the National League? Is it a more aggressive style of baseball the Reds can't matchup with? These are all very serious questions because this franchise has absolutely tanked it against the AL.

Also......this season could be in serious jeopardy because the Reds have to play a lot more AL teams in this COVID-19 shortened season and they just get smashed by the AL. Even a team as bad as Detroit gives the Reds all they can handle and have out hit the Reds thus far in this series

What makes matters worse is my 2 most hated teams both reside in the AL (Indians, Yankees.) Both of which own the Reds.

Well, we’ve been consistently mediocre (at best) since interleague became a thing. With a small sample size, it’s not that shocking we’d be at the bottom.

I'd say that the reds are that bad in interleague games because they were a pretty bad team most time since the start of interleague play in 97...

The record against nl teams during this time period won't be very good either (I didn't check the numbers, just a guess...)

Yes but even in years the Reds have been good IE 2010-2013 their record was even average when they should have been making hay. The Indians haven’t been much better than the Reds and yet they have a much better overall record against the Reds.

Until the Reds start finding consistent success against the AL then they will never win anything meaningful

I reiterate, until the Reds can consistently beat and have a winning record against the AL they will never field a team worth watching nor ever field a team that will ever win anything worth note.

BUMP. Staring at a 1-3 record at our hated rivals from the Northeast part of the state and another dreadful performance against the Indians and the American League.

The Reds never beat Americans, time to switch back to Redlegs.

It’s because they aren’t a very good franchise. And they really only improved themselves marginally from their losing record last season. Shrug. One premium bat was just not enough to get them up comfortably over .500.

And at least a couple of their starters are due for a little regression, like Castillo and Disco.
