    What about Christian Colon? Does he hit lefties well?
    Bobby Nightengale
    @nightengalejr
    He hit .331/.406/.493 vs. LHP at AAA last year, so I'd say yes.

    Beginning to think it was silly to pay all that money for Shogo as he's clearly going to be caught in the middle of David Bell's Perpetual Tinkerin' Machine. There are plenty of lineup permutations that would have allowed him to play today.
    “The crows seem to be calling my name,” thought Caw.

    Shogo should be starting every game.

    I would like Shogo in the lineup every night.

    And quit batting Freddy 12th

    David Bell said Shogo Akiyama will not be a platoon player: "We are aware of Shogo’s ability to hit left-handed pitching. But allowing him to have some success in a new country and new league the best we can too, initially here, is worth consideration also.”

    "He stays in there really tough on the left-handers so no, I would not say that. Where we are right now is we have other players we’re looking to get into the lineup that really their strength is hitting off left-handed pitching. I think it’s all going to work out."

    This Ervin 2019 stat against LHP is being overrated on here.

    It was 95 PAs last season. In 2018, in 73 PAs, he hit .749 OPS against lefties with a .301 OBP.

    I don’t mind the platoon, and Ervin is a pretty good bench player. I would have traded Phil to make room for Aquino myself. I see more upside with AA.

    I don’t mind Ervin in there...BUT I’m not being super patient with him if he’s not striking the ball hard.

    I prefer Shogo, Votto, Moose, Castellanos, Suarez, Freddy in there most every day. With the others I’m going with the hot hand. If Aquino go 3-4 with 2 doubles....he’s in there the next night and someone’s gonna have to sit. Winker is allowed to face a lefty and Ervin is allowed to face a righty. Everything doesn’t have to be so calculated.

    I've looked everywhere for Japan splits. Where are you seeing this?

    A rainout with 2 of our starters out isn't necessarily a bad thing.
