as the athletic article points out, now you are going to get a bunch of players who do not admit when they are sick since MLB handled the moose/senzel situations so bad.

MLB needs to be smart here. If players doing the right thing, by staying away if they don't feel 100%, results in delays coming back even when they test negative and feel better, then players will stop doing the right thing.
If they can’t trust players to tell the truth, then they need to shut the whole thing down.

One negative test is not conclusive, the science is clear on this. MLB is doing the right thing. They don’t have a choice. Letting players back after just one test is negligent and can result in more Marlin’s situations.

I mean after the Marlin’s mess do we really want MLB to be relaxing the rules? I get it because they are Reds, but we need to look past the laundry.

I think you missed the report that both have passed multiple tests. From The Athletic:

Neither Moustakas nor Senzel has tested positive for COVID-19 despite multiple tests, according to sources with knowledge of the situation, nor have either exhibited symptoms since Sunday.

Nobody's talking about Just One Negative Test.

Okay, thanks for the correction. My bad.

Then this is a major screw up by MLB.

How does someone get a summer cold these days?

Is there any indication in the Senzel medical history file that he is prone to summer colds?

I doubt they get cleared today. They are keeping the Phillies off the field until Saturday because infections may not show up in testing until the end of this week. Figure the same is likely true for these two.

I will often get allergies that mirror cold symptoms - it was worse when I was around Senzel's age.

    Re: Moose and Senzel

the fact that the reds needed to "appeal" this is hilarious. 2 negative tests and you still have to appeal? what would make it automatic with no appeal? 3 negative tests?

again, now guys just aren't going to report when they are feeling sick out of fear of being forced to miss 3 games when nothing major is wrong with them.
