    True.

And none of the players involved in those activities from weeks ago has tested positive.

I think what people, and especially sports fans, don't seem to realize or take to heart is that contracting Covid does not mean you were acting irresponsibly. We all want to point fingers and believe that you have to have "done something wrong" to get it, but that's not the case. It does not discriminate.

100% true. You can do damn near everything right and still contract this virus. I’ve seen it happen

7 players and 6 staff members were the latest numbers I read.

I am sorry, but that doesn’t just happen if everyone is acting responsibly. Someone or someone’s were not acting responsibly for an outbreak like that to happen.

The only thing you should be sorry for is not understanding that a person can do everything by the book and still contract and spread it.

I texted my friend with the Cardinals about the casino thing. He didn’t text me anything except exactly what I am typing but it relates to what everyone is saying right here.

“The casino is truly a story from what I’m hearing. I’ve been told the supposed real story and it is about as innocent as it could get. But it makes you realize how easy it is to catch.”

This was texted to me on Monday.

I remember one time going out to the mound to talk with Bob Gibson. He told me to get back behind the batter, that the only thing I knew about pitching was that it was hard to hit.

If you mean follow MLB's protocols, then yes. But we now know that MLB's protocols were deficient. There is a way to stop the spread, to stop outbreaks, and many companies, businesses and sports leagues have figured it out.

As I posted in other threads, I am in charge of a project and am responsible for developing and implementing a COVID prevention plan for the entire project and all the employees. I understand this as well as anyone, and one thing I fully understand is that outbreaks are avoidable, with the proper protocol in place. MLB failed to develop and implement such a plan.

Someone or someone's on the Cardinals did something irresponsible, even if they followed the MLB protocol, something stupid, as I said. That is how outbreaks happen. They don't just happen without a catalyst. That of course doesn't mean that everyone who tested positive did something stupid. But someone did.

Oh my god. For real! They went fishing and golfing. No way! Wow, shame on them for escaping their hotels to fish and golf where they aren’t close to another human being. Such idiots.

You couldn’t get Covid fishing even if you tried.

The word you love to use is stupid. Pretty ironic, don’t ya think?

    @markasaxon
#STLCards players are being informed today that the team will not be assembling for at least 3-5 days and to get in workouts on their own, per source. Pittsburgh series likely will be canceled.

Once one of them gets it, from family or just someone they walked past, in an environment like a baseball team then I'm actually surprised it's only 13 people.

    Lol....you’re welcome.

In all seriousness, going to bars, casinos, strip clubs, etc. is stupid right now. Those are the places where you have a chance to get the virus and spread it. Anything inside is somewhat risky. Being in a clubhouse is risky although the players don’t seem to have a choice on that. Golf and fishing, not so much. There’s going to be a half billion rounds of golf this year and I doubt a single case can be attributed to catching the virus while playing golf. Maybe you can catch it in the clubhouse or sharing a cart, but if you avoid that, which is incredibly easy, you won’t catch it in the course. And fishing, what could be a safer hobby?

It's kind of scandalous the Cardinals B team hasn't been pressed into action at this point.

Every other sports league has avoided such outbreaks. Businesses across the country have opened without similar outbreaks.

If players follow basic protocol of wearing masks when not playing, staying six feet away from each other and washing their hands regularly, outbreaks like this wouldn’t happen. But we saw that MLB players were not doing that. They were clustering in the dugout, not wearing masks, giving high fives, belly bumps, hugging each other, etc..

That was the plan before the season started! Apparently, MLB thought it was better to cancel game after game and make teams play daily double headers instead...
