    I guess it's a reality now.

MiLB baseball. It's not a crime. Just not the real thing.

We are about to see the first one in MLB history tomorrow between the Reds and Tigers. Oh joy.

Ernie Banks is rolling over in his Grave.

Lets play one and a half.

Let’s just sim the season on a computer and play the playoffs. Everyone makes their money and less COVID risk. #sarcasm. Again. What does covid have to do with 7 inning games. Expanded rosters means more players that can play. You’re being exposed to the other team no matter if you play 14 or 18 innings

They expect to play a lot of doubleheaders this year, which means expanded rosters or not, you are going to eat through your pitching staff, and they want to limit the risk of injury to the arms out there. Fewer innings, fewer guys being used. So it's very COVID related.

Not sure how anybody could be against it after seeing the Reds bullpen the last few days
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

This is actually a huge advantage for the Reds, as Tom said, that's 2 less innings for the bullpen to pitch.
[Phil ] Castellini celebrated the team's farm system and noted the team had promising prospects who would one day be great Reds -- and then joke then they'd be ex-Reds, saying "of course we're going to lose them". #SellTheTeamBob

Of course David Bell will now lift Moustakas in the 5th for a pitch runner and Castellanos in the 6th for a defensive replacement.

I think it has far more to do with keeping players from getting injured at this stage of the game. SP's are dropping like flies.

It will be interesting to see how Bell and Gardenhire adapt.

I’d hang a sign in the dugout “FYI - remember, 7 inning games”

    Actually, it's let's play 1.7778, but who's counting?

    Re: 7 inning double headers

Having seen game 1 today, I kind of like it. Just for a limited number of games. Makes a doubleheader watchable.

My guess is the players will love it, more days off, and want it in the next CBA.
