We are about to see the first one in MLB history tomorrow between the Reds and Tigers. Oh joy.

These 7-inning games truly favor the REDS with their superior starting pitching, while exponentially diminishing their biggest weakness, their bullpen.

These two 7 inning victories are why I’m not even slightly convinced the Reds have turned a corner. They’re back to finding guys to cover 4 innings instead of 1 or 2. A daunting task.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of 7-inning games after today. Bauer in particular is a beast in that format.

More often than not, I'd identify myself as a baseball purist or a curmudgeon "get off my lawn type of guy"; however, I enjoyed the two 7 innings ball games today. I'm liking the DH for the NL as well.

They expect to play a lot of doubleheaders this year, which means expanded rosters or not, you are going to eat through your pitching staff, and they want to limit the risk of injury to the arms out there. Fewer innings, fewer guys being used. So it's very COVID related.

Expand the rosters even more then. Problem solved.

As a guy who cut his teeth on AAA baseball, this seven-inning thing didn't even seem weird. I hate the runner-on-second idea, but I could live with this one longterm.
