Joey Votto self-reported symptoms this morning, according to a source. He was placed on the IL. There is no positive test, source said. Based on what MLB has done, he'd miss at minimum, two days -- 3 games if they play today's DH.

I applaud Votto for self-reporting symptoms and hope other players see him and follow his smart and cautious lead.

MLB also needs to not overly punish him for it. If he tests negative twice, let him play immediately.

I believe this is how the #Reds feel. Problem is, MLB hasn't done that so far with the team, re: Moustakas, Senzel, Davidson. Davidson did not fail an MLB-administered test, only rapid test. All 3 had multiple negative tests.

That's the key. If players are doing the appropriate thing and self-reporting, you can't hold them back once they've tested negative twice.

Otherwise, players around the league will take notice and decide that the symptoms are most likely unrelated to the virus and not report it at all.

I swear to god, if Joey Votto comes down with COVID and suffers serious effects, I am done with baseball, and possibly happiness, for good.

I can’t keep my trolls straight. Was Chucky the “fancy coffee” guy? I’m feeling no, but I can’t remember.

Chucky also wanted the backup 1B.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

And if you didn't believe it, you could just ask him.
