I realize that it was a whole 2 days ago, but Colon went 2-4 with two key RBIs to seal a win. He also can play anywhere in the IF, where the Reds are much thinner.

I ask assuming you're from Halifax, UK. And not a transplant from Cincinnati or something.

You assume correctly. I got into baseball largely through it being on late night tv when i was growing up, fell in love with the sport. The why Reds question is harder to answer. I remember ages ago on the baseball coverage they used local commentators with British studio summary and one segment they did was based on which MLB team a UK viewer should root for based on what English football team they supported and the Reds were paired with Leeds United. I think the reasons were something like traditionally big clubs who've had hard times, loyal fanbases but often eccentric owners" Not sure how true that was but it kind of resonated anyway and I've followed the Reds results as best I can since. Not sure how they worked that out as the default Leeds fan position is that you shouldn't wear, own or support anything red (rivalry with Man Utd and Liverpool) but nevertheless it stuck. Baseball is very, very niche here and most people asked to list baseball teams would list the Yankees maybe Red Sox and then get stuck, so picking a team is hard without family loyalties, local connections etc.
