I'm not one to bash Thom usually but what's up with him so far this season?

Its like he's watching a different game. Ranting about balls being right down the middle but they are clearly out of the zone. Not knowing the rules. Asking over and over why Garrett isn't in the game when its obviously because Jones hasnt seen the 3 batter minimum.

I actually mind him way less when he's announcing football or someone else's baseball games. He's still not good, but he at least doesn't do his Cranky Marty impression on those ones.

Agree 100%. He is rather good doing national games and football although he always talks too much.

To be fair Garrett SHOULD have been brought in instead of Jones or Strop for that matter. Our only real high leverage arm should have been brought in to preserve a lead/tie and not a 2 run deficit.

He's the loudmouth at the bar, your boring boss, annoying neighbor and the idiot who grew up three houses down from you all in one entity. He doesn't want to know more about baseball than he did when he was ten, he's wooden and gets all incredulous about every incident during the game that goes against his preprogrammed ideal of the game of baseball

He better get used to it, not sending radio/tv guys on the road will save money, likely making it permanent.
