Not when it's Cleveland and the AL like it or not is much better than the NL. They are the standard and right now the Reds are very below the standard

The Reds aren't competing against Cleveland or the AL Central for playoff spots so when you beat a NL Central team it... you know what, nevermind.

If an 8-7 Cleveland team that hasn't won a championship since the 40s is your standard, you need to find yourself a new standard.

    Re: offense

The Reds offence will surely improve.

They lead the NL in walks, so their OBA which is about league average in the NL, will surely improve once their league low BABIP of .228 normalizes.

And their 6-8 record ranks tied for 8th in the NL, tied for a playoff spot.

As long as the Reds starting pitching continues pitching well, this is a playoff team, because their offence and bullpen cannot likely get any worse.

    This offense will get better.

Da Wink has struggled so far, Geno is off to a slow start. They will be better plus Moose has only appeared in 7 of our first 14 games.

When these guys get straightened out it will be like adding three well above average bats to the roster.

They spent money to get him because that’s the only real resource that they have to spare. And it would have to be spent on the lineup, because that’s still been the weak link even with Castellanos here right now.
The game is going to have so many non tenders this year your head will spin. With the CBA about expire, a short season of failures and successes we're likely to see a lot of roster turnover in the next couple seasons, I wouldn't get wedded to anyone or anything being stable on the roster

Suarez's BABIP is just disgustingly low right now. If that normalizes he's back to a 270 bat.

He's currently the tenth unluckiest batter in baseball.

Joey Votto, surprisingly, is the 20th. I think Joey may be back again.

Another horrific game by this offense certainly not helped by Bell. Tucker never should have been allowed to hit in whatever inning that was.

Winker OPS up to .808. This team has some issues, but the call to get rid of Winker when he can be the DH seemed a little nutty to me.

    Now, how about that Bullpen?

Votto usually hits very well in Milwaukee. This was a strange series for him.

More like he is returning back to who he really is at almost 37.
