i would bet senzel will start 75%ish of the games in center if he stays healthy. shogo the other 25%. and shogo will also get a lot of starts in LF, and a handful in right.

i love basically having four "starting" OFs (even without the DH in the NL) because you are going to need all 4 during the course of a 162-game season. there will be plenty of starts for all 4 of them. also, guys will get hurt. not all 4 of them are making it through the season without a trip to the IL. let's just hope none of them have any serious injuries. i like this foursome very much.

Senzel is one main reason that I am still optimistic about this Reds team. Nick is a former #2 overall pick and the only thing that has derailed his production to this point is health. He's also comfortable in CF now and doesn't have to worry about learning a new position. I think he gives us 450-550 PA and gives us a solid .280/.340/.480 type line (OPS in the low .800s).

The reds collective outfield was the 5th worst in MLB last year. Having 4 average to bad starters doesn't matter; Collectively, they are still bad

The Angels were worse than the Reds. Does that mean Trout sucks?

No. It means the rest of them are awful. Not even average.

So, what's the relevance of the Reds being "5th worst" in the league?

The Relevance is that the Reds have a bad outfield, regardless if they have '4 starters' for 3 spots. They Have a bad outfield overall.

I am not sure what Mike Trout/Angels have to do with that fact.

The idea that the Reds have a “bad outfield” is based on 60 games of like 1 guy underperforming significantly.

Which is to say, it’s nonsense.

It's relevant because I'm encouraging you to "show your work"

Your "proof" the Reds have a bad OF because they were "5th worst" in 2020 when 1/4 of their PAs came from guys who are either not on the roster (Goodwin, Jankowski, Payton) or on the fringe of the roster (Aquino)

Winker DH'd 3/4 of 2020, he will be in the OF this year. Castellanos had his worst year at the plate since 2015

If you want to debate individual players on the 2021 roster being bad, fine. Glad to do so. I'm pushing back at your justification
