Canada's last fully intact Arctic ice shelf collapses

The Arctic has been warming at twice the global rate for the last 30 years, due to a process known as Arctic amplification. But this year, temperatures in the polar region have been intense. The polar sea ice hit its lowest extent for July in 40 years. Record heat and wildfires have scorched Siberian Russia.
Summer in the Canadian Arctic this year in particular has been 5 degrees Celsius above the 30-year average, Copland said.

"LONDON (Reuters) - Last year was one of the three warmest on record, with glaciers melting, sea levels rising and a spate of wildfires, heatwaves and droughts, research published in the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society (BAMS) showed. The BAMS annual State of the Climate Report, by 528 climate scientists from 61 countries, said only 2015 and 2016 were hotter than 2019, based on records dating to the mid- to late 1800s."

About the only good thing from COVID is that the Earth demonstrated it's ability to heal itself quickly if humans can get out of the way.

I always say: if global warming continues and eventually makes earth unlivable for humans it is NOT the end of the world. Earth will go on, humans are simply a blip on a very long time timeline. The end of humanity and the end of the world are two very different things.
What would you say.....ya do here?

So, we've got that going for us. Which is nice.
