    Reds vs KC 8-12-20

For those wondering why Miley is pitching today, it’s because the Reds want the 4 righties to face Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh has a .855 OPS vs lefties, 4th best in the majors.

Against righties they are at .521, by far the worse in the majors.

By way of comparison, Janko’s lifetime OPS is .630, more than 100 points higher.

Pittsburgh vs. Righties are basically Janko in a slump.

Keller is kind of a throwback, high walks and low strikeouts but a lot of groundballs and generally avoids the HR.
“I don’t care,” Votto said of passing his friend and former teammate. “He’s in the past. Bye-bye, Jay.”

I will post the Royals lineup when it becomes available
I am happy we are seeing Farmer at 2B rather than Colon. Not sure if Farmer is substantially better, but I need a break from Colon.

At this point in time I believe the Farm Dog is better than Colon.

I think Farmer has earned the start. He was responsible for 4 runs last night. He got us 2 early, and saved us 2 late

Lucas Sims is 1-0 with a 1.08 ERA in 8 1/3 innings so far this season. He's striking out 11.88 per 9 innings and walking 4.32 per 9 innings

He was straight clutch last night. Thought Casali broke his rhythm when he had thr little chat on the mound, but he got it done.

Yeah I feel okay when SIms comes in, just need s a tad better control but overall I feel confident when it's him, Jones, Garrett or Iglesias. I worry about the longball with Iggy and Amir, and Jones makes me nervous about a wild pitch with a man on for some reason (seems to throw in the dirt a lot) but I still feel we have a chance with any of them. The rest of the guys with BobSteve and Strop missing scare the beejeezus outta me, especially Lorenzen. I literally throw stuff around the room when they bring him in. I'd like to see Mahle get some middle innings - let him pitch two at a time.

If Miley does ok tonight, maybe Antone and Mahle become reliable options for 2-3 innings in the bullpen.

Antone, Mahle, Sims, Jones, Garrett, Iglesias could be an adequate bullpen. I'd like to see Bell handle them the way Counsel does. If you bring Antone or Mahle in the 5th, let him pitch 3 or 4 innings while he's going strong to keep the game locked down.

    Re: Reds vs KC 8-12-20

Big item tonight is Wade Miley. I don’t expect him to go deep, Mahle will come in, but hopefully he can hit the ground running for 4-5 innings.

Also looking for Bell to use his main relievers again to try and get to .500. Go with the secondary guys against the Pirates tomorrow. At least, I hope Bell does that.
