I figure this is a prelude to Moose’s return.
Moose up, Colon down. Might as well bridge a day or two with a needed fresh arm until Moose is eligible.
When Moose is officially up, might see a pitcher leave.

Guy just had a great outing. JVM will go down when Moose is back IMO.

Reds now with 14 pitchers and 14 position men. When Moose returns, could be Reed, could just be Thornburg back to Prasco. Or Reds could shift into a 14-14 mix more permanently and send down a position guy.
Reed has had 3 straight outings where he wasn't charged with a run. ERA went from 16.20 to 7.04

The Reds just DFAd a guy they used in 11 out of 19 games. A dude that wouldn’t even be on the team without expanded rosters. Do we think he may have been over utilized?

Yep, Bell doesn't realize that some guys, like Colon are roster filler, to be used in emergency situations only.
Bell thinks there's some kind of penalty if he doesn't use every position player in every game.
Remember that year the Reds carried a third catcher, Brook Fordyce, who was only used to catch ceremonial first pitches?
Whoever was the manager then understood what roster filler was. Bell does not grasp it.
I am sure the bench guys love Bell for it, but Bell's job is to win games.

Yes, but that's what happens when Moustakas gets hurt and you have little depth in the middle infield.
The past week they've put him in a role that he's not suited for.

Colon is out of options. The only way to get him off roster is DFA and through waivers.

Yes, JVM isn’t going down for Moustakas. Probably a pitcher unless they want to reduce the outfield glut.
