    Art Garfunkel on anyone's list?
I've been to dinner at Jimmy Buffet's house, and I've eaten it at a homeless shelter. And there's great joy and harrowing terror to be found in both places.

    Niche singers:

The dulcet tones of Barry White.

The incredible range of Minnie Ripperton.

    Everyone else
I like that list. Sinatra said Jones was the "second greatest singer of the 20th century".

I’ve always enjoyed Eric Burdon’s voice.
When I see the 2016 Reds, I see a 100 loss team and no direction.

I honestly love Neil Young’s voice on his songs. Rod Stewart has a great voice.

    Re: Top 5 Vocalists

For me, Sinatra is an easy choice for the males. He's still very prevalent in my music listening. I'd throw Otis Redding out there as #2 and maybe Sam Cooke. And while he's not a big start like everyone else in the conversation, I could listen to Ray LaMontagne sing anything.

I am definitely not on the same page with a lot of people around Elvis. He never translated for me, and he pretty much copied everything he did from black artists of his day.

I'm on board with consensus Aretha, Whitney, and Ella at the top for women. I'm going to throw Bonnie Rait out there as well. I don't think I could make a list like this without Emmylou Harris on it. She's another one I could listen to sing anything.

If we venture outside of popular music, Audra McDonald is probably my favorite female vocalist ever. And Colm Wilkinson was in a class by himself for broadway singers.
